Love, hate, fun, fights, parties, friends, sex, passion, interviews, inspirations, confusions, determination, bonds, crashes, blood, manhood, childhood, pictures, music, fashion… after 15 years of everything, through good and bad times, the family is where everything always ends and where everything starts: PIG QUARTERLY – THE FAMIGLIA . Dedicated to the family that shares my blood and the one that does not.
Daniel Beckerman
The Famiglia
Puoi trovare PIG QUARTERLY online all’indirizzo store.pigshop.com e in rivenditori internazionali selezionati come Mondadori/Duomo e Armani Libri a Milano, Serpentine Gallery e Artwords a Londra, Agora Press e Artazar a Parigi, World Mag Seoul e Aoyama Bookcenter Tokyo.
About PIG Quarterly: Young and Talented Journalism
The Famiglia
PIG Quarterly is proud to announce the first issue of its recently re-designed publication, titled “The Famiglia”. PIG Quarterly sets the ground for a new type of magazine publishing, where each topic is developed in-depth. The current issue of PIG Quarterly presents a selection of articles, photographic essays and short stories centred around a distinctly Italian theme – the family – analysed in many of its aspects through the lenses of music, cinema, fashion, art, design and photography – historically, all PIG magazine areas of interest.
PIG Quarterly – “The Famiglia” includes interviews with and writing about some of the most interesting personalities and events from both the past as well as the present: the tuareg musical group Tinariwen from Mali, Sister Corita, a nun-artist from Los Angeles, an overview of gangs through the lens of cinema, the influence architecture exerts in our daily lives, along with a series of short stories about family members by six talented writers and three photographic essays by Linus Bill, Ola Rindal and Sacha Maric.
Focus on Tinariwen: interview and article made in october 2012. Many things happened since then in Mali: the dreaded military intervention took place, French army (and ECOWAS countries) has taken Timbuktu and Gao and have started peace negotiations with laical Tuareg of MNLA barricated in Kidal. Ethnical revenges and ritorsions are feared, but the biggest part of Mali people today are happy to have nothing to do with Islamic integralists guilty of the abolition of music, one of the most precious and shared Mali’s good.
The cover art was designed by Claire Duport exclusively for the italo-american magazine.
You can find PIG QUARTERLY online at store.pigshop.com and in selected retailers worldwide such as Mondadori/Duomo and Armani Libri in Milano, Serpentine Gallery and Artwords in London, Agora Press and Artazar in Paris, World Mag Seoul and Aoyama Bookcenter Tokyo among others.
